I really enjoyed the White Queen and thought this was one of the more balanced and even sympathetic portrayals of Elizabeth Woodville that I've come across. I don't really understand why Gregory and/or her publisher put out all of the hype about the witchcraft angle. Although it is an element of the story, it is not the primary focus and it's not done in a dark or evil way. I liked a couple of the plot twists that Gregory included as they set up the rest of the series. The book got off to somewhat of a slow start, but picked up after Elizabeth and Edward's marriage.
